This Lectrolab is an awesome amp with a slick features and a great tone that sounds most in the ballpark with that of a Princeton. The S600 was released smack in the middle of the sixties after a brand redesign switching to black tolex, a top-mounted, recessed control panel, and slightly different tube configurations. This amp features a pair of EL84 workalikes as power tubes (6BQ5), two 12AX7’s as preamp tubes, a 6AU6 for the (amazing sounding) tremolo, and lastly a 6CA6 as it’s rectifier tube. All of that is being driven through a Jensen 12″ speaker that delivers a very clear yet saturated rock and roll sound perfect for recording or for general awesomeness. Cosmetically it’s in great shape; the tolex is just a touch worn (considering its age) primarily around the edges/on the corners specifically. The tolex on the top is lifting a bit but it’s still very in tact and secured on all edges. The handle, in our opinion, is the undisputed world champion in design as it clicks down flush with top of the inset control cavity. Purportedly this is a very similar amplifier to the Harmony 306A, but either way not many amps can touch upon the aesthetics of this thing and also sound as cool. Don’t take a nap on this one!
