Guild X-150D Savoy Archtop Hollow-Body Flamed Natural Electric Guitar Westerly c. 1999-2001 w/OHSC

Guild really outdid themselves on this one, folks. What looks to be a straight-jazzer’s instrument is actually that and much more. It’s in excellent playing condition outfitted with a very straight three-piece mahogany neck & rosewood fretboard, a laminated flamed curly maple body, a set of Grover tuners and the original pickups. Currently being set up with flatwounds, it sounds amazingly deep and full-bodied on the neck pickup without being woofy or muddy, and when in the middle or bridge position the highs chime like bells and mix very well with the low-end response. The balance between the two pickups and the maple body seems to be a very symbiotic relationship which brews up very usable tones practically anywhere you park the controls. Cosmetically there’s hardly a mark on it and it’s all original with the exception of the toggle switch, which has been replaced and the original is in the hardshell case included with it. This is one of the last guitars Guild made in Westerly before the factory location changed to Corona, CA later in 2001, and boy does it live up to the Westerly reputation!
