For sale is an all-original 1965 Epiphone FT-79 Texan Acoustic Guitar in very good condition with excellent structural geometry for its vintage. Paul McCartney famously picked one of these up himself in 1965 and immortalized the Texan as a "legacy" model in the world of popular music. It has the signature dry, slope shoulder Gibson voice with tons of volume, a thunderous resonance you can feel in your chest, and a beautifully-dynamic response when played in every register in any style of play. These old Gibson/Epiphone Kalamazoo models are some of our favorites here at Mill River Music, and this may be the best one yet! Solid mahogany back, sides and neck, solid spruce top with rosewood fingerboard and bridge - much like a J-45 but with a 25.5" scale length and 1-5/8" nut width. Original ceramic saddle is a good feature for this original, ADJ style bridge.

The guitar has uniform finish checking throughout the top and sides, minor wear/worming on the back (see photo series). Action is very nice and playable at standard acoustic spec, not in neck reset territory, excellent player with deep resonance and that perfect Gibson neck shape. Minimal fretwear (see photo series). Period-correct arched hardshell case included. Overall weight: 4 lbs 6 oz.
